Anthony David Gonzalez (born August 25 in 1970) is an American former tight end in the NFL. Gonzalez played in the National Football League from 1997 to 2003. He is one of the NFL's most efficient tight ends as well as third-best overall receiver, he's been ranked as the NFL's most effective tight end, in terms of receiving yards, receptions achieved, and so on.
Tony Gonzalez is currently a FOX studio analyst for the studio. Gonzalez is an anchor for FOX NFL KICKOFF and FOX NFL KICKOFF. FOX NFL KICKOFF is FOX NFL's pregame program that airs prior to FOX NFLSUNDAY. This airs at 11:00 AM ET each Sunday throughout the NFL season.
Gonzalez, who had said he'd retire at the end 2013, opted on March 15 to sign a two-year agreement worth $14 million to stay in the Falcons. Randy Moss retired in 2013 as did Gonzalez, who was 37 when he left, completed the year that ended his professional career in the position of being the NFL leading receiver yards.
